Hello Old Friend!

Sitting here with nothing to do and all of a sudden....I remembered I had a blog! geez! Its been forever! So......the big news....we are no longer in New York. Woooooohooooooooo!!!!!! Long story short, Eddie's job crapped out on him, so he got a better one. Sorry for using the "c" word. But it's a pretty accurate description of what happened. So, the three of us (Eddie, Ruby and I) are living in my folks' basement until we can get out of our rental contract for the condo in NY. Tater is in Heber with Grandpa. I miss her lots! I am going back to work. A full time job at the University of Utah Hospital. I'm not sure how I will handle being away from Ruby for that long every day. Kinda not looking forward to that. Her crazy Grandmother will be watching her while we are at work. So Ruby might be making monkey sounds to communicate instead of talking. Oh wait..... she already does that. Haha! She is doing a lot of things: crawling, walking, talking, using sign-language, throwing tantrums. She is growing up too fast! Well, that's a quick update. Either my mom or dad is snoring in the other room right now. So it must be late.
My farewell to thee......PEACE OUT!

Well hello!

I almost forgot that I have a blog. Obviously, since it's been a while. Excuse me. I have to get Ruby away from the electronics.
We have finally settled down for a few weeks, here in hot New York. Yes, it's warm here. I had to turn on the AC unit today. There are some guys on our roof, replacing the shingles. Otherwise, I'd be in my bikini on the porch writing this post. That is how nice the weather is today.
Ruby is crawling all over the place! I am realizing that I am going to have start entertaining her. I wish there was a pool around here that isn't full of rowdy kids. I think we would both enjoy the water. We go for walks a lot. And that's about it. I just don't know how to entertain this crazy baby!
I will be back for more posts, when Ruby is sleeping!

So.....

Do I really need a reason to blog? It has been so long since the last post because nothing new has really happened. And I'm sure no one wants to read a couple of rambling sentences that don't have pictures or videos.
Well, other than my extreme chocolate cravings, nothing is really "new". I thought I was doing great at excersising and eating right until our last trip home to Utah. We spent a little over a week there, and I thought that I was looking good, fitting into my pre-Ruby jeans and all. And then, we got back to New York and BAM!!! 10 pounds out of nowhere just reappeared. WHAT THE?!?!?! I don't understand this fluctuation and it is quite frustrating trying to manage it, whether I need to lose it or not. And then the obsession with Oreos and milk and anything chocolate started. Don't worry...I'm not prego.
Speaking of prego......how was your April Fool's Day? Mine was AWESOME!!! Ruby wouldn't really understand the jokes I could play on her, and Tater's just a dog. So it was left to Eddie. I got him so good!! First, I put cream cheese in his deodarant the day before while he was at work. I just smoothed it on with a knife and it looked perfect! I also tricked him with an old pregnancy test. That one was hilarious!!! He also got a mysterious text invite to lunch from a "Jessica Sinclaire". I got him so good! But he keeps telling me I'm mean, while laughing at me. I just tell him that he's the only one I've got to play tricks on, which is true.
Anyhow, Ruby news.....
Ruby is now 8 months old! She does not have any teeth, but I am sure they are about to pop out anytime now. She has now learned to cry to TRY to get whatever she wants. She makes the face and everything! But its a totally fake cry and I can get her stop pretty easily. She also uses her voice a lot more. She practically yells when she is in the tub or playing with toys. Ruby also makes a growling noise, especially when she laughs. I'm not sure what that is, but it is pretty cute.  She mostly growls at Tater. Maybe they talk to eachother when I'm not paying attention.
My mom said she checks this blog often for new pictures and videos. So here is the latest......

March comes in like a lion, what else? Still the snow never melts!

Well, I guess I will start with the important stuff first. Ruby had a doctor's appointment yesterday. She had a routine immunization appointment. During the normal exam, the doctor discovered that Ruby has an innocent heart murmur. PLEASE DON'T BE ALARMED! The doctor indicated that it is not a very serious condition. We do, however, need to see a cardiologist to get an ultrasound of her little ticker. This is just to make sure that it is not a serious condition. So, if you could say a little prayer for us right now, we would very much appreciate it.

As for everything else....

Its snowing, again. Last week, I sat on the porch in my bikini. (I put blankets on the railing so no one could see me) And now it keeps coming down! At least my cardinals are back. I am trying to get a good picture of them so I can show you how beautiful these birds are. But they don't land on any branches close enough.  Oh well. The snow always makes a cup of tea and a book cozier.
I made some chocolate-hazelnut biscotti this week. I have been drinking coffee and chai like crazy so that I can dip my biscotti in it. At first, I didn't think it was that great. But then I had it with my coconut thai chai. YUMMO!!!! But instead of reading, I am blogging.

By the way.....make sure to turn on your sound and turn up the volume. I finally figured out how to add a playlist of songs to the blog. It is so nice to read other people's blogs and listen to some of their favorite tunes. It helps me get to know them a little more. So I thought I would add some of my fav's for your listening enjoyment.

I also finished another sister owl.

Not sure what to name her yet. She kinda has crazy eyes. Maybe Cathy would be a good name. Hehe! But don't worry! This bird will not be calling you during the midnight hours to "hoot" at you. (Please understand that this is not a joke about any of our family members named Cathy.)

I must get busy de-cluttering our house. We are having John, a guy Eddie works with, and his girlfriend, Jody, over for dinner tomorrow night. I plan on making something in my crockpot so that the aroma of good food will fill the house. It still smells like smoke in here, and I hate it. Febreeze and candles are my friends!

With adieus..... another video of Ruby in the tub

Hoot! Hoot!

Thanks to Ashley Bailey, I have a w3redasdgdsa   (sorry! I just had to yell at the dog for spilling my coffee and then stepping all over the keyboard. Dumb dog!)
Anyway....I have a new hobby to keep me busy here in lonely New York. Check it out.....

Meet Blanche, our first sister owl, and Ruby's new friend.

Ashley posted the instruction for these little guys on her cute blog. She has been keeping herself busy creating whole flocks of owls! And I thank her for giving me a hobby. However, her little owls are smelly good sachets that she keeps in a pantie drawer. My little owls are going to be rattles and toys for all of Ruby's friends. And she has several! So I will be busy. But first, I gotta go cuddle Tater since I hurt her feelings by yelling at her.

Sure

Our trip home to Utah was busy! We had soooooo much to do and sooooo many people to see. I am looking forward to our next visit when Ruby and I will be there for almost 2 weeks!
I did not take a camera to Utah (stupid idoit!), so the only pictures I have are of Ruby doing silly things.
This is Ruby's first Frappucino. Steven Sheffield, one of her many boyfriends, made it for her. She liked the sound of the straw scraping on the lid the best since she is not allowed to taste Frappucinos yet. But I'm sure the whipped cream will be her favorite, just like her mom.

This picture makes me very happy! That's all I'm going to say about this one.

Ruby learned to make this face at Grandma & Grandpa's. It was quite hilarious to see my folks doing it back to her!

Don't worry.......Ruby was out of her carseat with Grandpa while they waited for me and Grandma to go into Target. By the way, I miss Utah Targets.
So everything was good back home. I got to see my girlfriends. We had a blast bowling! The bruise on my kneecap is starting to fade though. (Ask me about that later)
I got to hang out with my cousins and my Grandma and Aunt. I really enjoyed the time we had with them. I hope I can have a super hot pink hat next time we go out!
We did a lot while we were home. The sun is finally shining in New York today. Maybe we can go to the driving range when Ed gets home. I need the practice for our next trip home!

HOME!

Ruby and I are finally home in Utah! We sure have missed everyone. And, the best thing of all, there's no snow! Well, not a whole lot anyway. I can see the grass and the sun is shining. Mom and I went to Cafe Rio for lunch on Monday. DELISH! And then we went and had a little shopping spree at TJ Maxx.
Hazel, my cute cousin, had a birthday party on Tuesday. So we got to hang out with my Uncle Chase and Aunt Daisy and my favorite little people....Hazel, Zander and Zekey-poo! They sure are cutie pies! We got to see Great GREAT Aunt Micky. She is a great aunt twice! Weird.
Emily and I went to Park City yesterday to see Jan and Jill and Stella-blue. We had another shopping spree at TJ Maxx. I got some sweet prizes for our Girls Night Bowling Bingo game. We are going to have sooooooooo much fun! I can't wait to see my friends!!!! I have missed them so much!
Eddie flies in tonight. I hope his flight is a lot better than mine. I'm pretty sure no one is going to puke all over him, but you never know! Only 5 days left in the SLsizzle! I hope they are good ones!

Little Miss Sunshine

Ruby visited the doctor today. She is very close to having bronchitis! POOR BABY!!! But we haven't been going out much for it to turn into anything serious. Anyway, Ruby was all smiles for everyone at the doctor's office. She smiled at the front desk lady, at the other waiting patients, the nurses, the doctor, EVERYONE! One nurse tried to take her home. But I told her that Ruby already has two cray grandmas and doesn't really need another one.

Right now, Ruby is whining while I am typing this. But then I'll stop and look at her and she will start smiling and giggling at me. What the?!?!
Well Daddy is home and he is upset that I don't have dinner ready. So I'm gonna go before I get beat. (I hope you all know that I am being sarcastic)
PEACE!

Awake

Does most blogging happen during the late night and early morning hours? I seem to think that it does. It has been a long couple of days. Ruby and Eddie are both sick. Ruby has a nasty cough that keeps me running into her room to check on her all night. And Eddie has symptoms of bronchitis and a sinus infection. Fun! NOT!!!! I worry too much as it is. But I am doing my best to take care of my babies. Let's hope nothing happens to Tater, or I might just run away to Canada. Wait......that would be like only 6 hours. And I don't have a passport. I'll go to Mexico. Its warmer there. And I'll take my new swim suit. And I don't think it would be that hard to sneak in......or out. (Sorry. Couldn't resist that one)

Ok.......I just typed a whole paragraph and the stupid touch pad mouse on this dang laptop made it erase!!!! GRRRRRR!!! Anyway, the video I uploaded to YouTube from my phone didn't post to my account. So I can't link it to this. Dumb. So I will post a picture instead. Let me go find one. Browsing......browsing........ OOOOO!!! Here is a good one!
This is from our trip to NYC with Cortnee and Jorge. We had a blast! Looking at my friend's Facebook pages and their blogs makes me really miss having them close to me. All I do here in NY is sit and wait for Eddie to get home from work. Seriously. That is all I do. It has been tough not being active and not having things to do besides clean the house. At least I didn't eat all of that cake that was leftover from Eddie's birthday! And now I have a blog to keep me up at night, listening to Ruby cough and Eddie snore. Poor babies!!!

Editing

I know! I know! Eddie looks totally wasted in the pic at the top of this blog. But I love the red dress Ruby is wearing. She wore it twice before she got too big for it. Sad!

We had a blast taking these pictures. Thank you, Stephanie Keller!

I think Ruby may have been passing gas in this picture. She learned that from her father. Or maybe her Grandpa John. Either way, she is real good at "fluffing".

I have yet to take a shower. It's almost 4:30 in the afternoon. I have been looking for jobs online. Being a stay-at-home Mom has its advantages, but I sure do get bored.

I am slowly building a friendship with a sweet girl from church. Her name is Tracy. Her and her husband, Matt, have a two year old and a six month old. Eli, their son, was born about a week after Ruby. Their little girl, Nadya, is so precious! She loves Ruby! We walked into church and Nadya came right over to sit with us and to see Ruby. I am looking forward to hanging out with this cute family more often!

Ed and I both have been "fighting" a cold. We both felt like we were hit by a freight train yesterday. Ya know how your body aches and you can't seem to muster up the energy to get out of bed? Yeah, that's how we both have been feeling. I hope Ruby doesn't catch whatever it is we have.

I have a whole cake leftover from Ed's birthday. Please, anyone!!!! Come visit us and help us eat this cake!

Birthday Bliss

Phew! What a day! Yesterday was a whirlwind of activity. I got up at 6:30 to make Ed's birthday cake. And then, I went to my first MOPS (Mothers Of Pre Schoolers) meeting with my friend Tracy.
And then, I went to the store to get decorations for the cake. And then, I came home to decorate the cake and to make a fabulous birthday feast!

And boy was it delish! Home-made mac n' cheese with bacon. Mmmmm...... And home-made ice cream. We had way too much food. And it was just the three of us to celebrate Ed's birthday. We sure do miss our family and friends back home.

The Real Housewife of My Husband

I have officialy become a "Housewife". And I mean an actual real housewife who scrubs my own toilet and makes myself lunch. I didn't realize it was 4 o'clock and still needed to take a shower. So I hurried in the shower, an oddity, so that I could have dinner somewhat ready by the time Eddie got home. I still had to go grocery shopping after dinner. It was nice to go to the store without having to lug Ruby in and out of the car and the cart. But I got everyting for Eddie's homemade birthday dinner and cake. I just finished the ice cream. It is sooooo delish! Just plain vanilla with chunks of oreo ball dough and andes mint crumbs. Mmmmmmmmm!!!!! The cake is being baked tomorrow morning. Eddie requested chocolate cake with raspberry filling and cream cheese frosting. That's what he's going to get. We'll see if the cake stays together. Otherewise, we'll have a famous "earthquake cake". (Ask my mother)

Ruby had mashed potatos for the first time today. She loves them! She loves any kind of solid food. She gets used to us putting the food into her mouth. Its pretty cute. Of course its cute!

Eddie just gave Tater a bath and now she is running around the house like crazy. Poor dog needs a friend.

So that's my real housewife story of the day. I just want to make sure all of the other real housewives aren't alone in the toilet scrubbing,
Peace out!

Sunday, Bloody Sunday

Every time I start to blog, I feel like I'm writing in my diary......... "I saw HIM today. He is sooooooooo cute!" Hahahaha! I think that's why I hated diaries and journals. Plus, I remember asking my mom for a "diarrhea" when I was like, what 5? And the lady in the store was laughing at me and I was so embarrassed. So I never wanted one after that.

So, Sunday, Bloody Sunday. Ed and I played Gin Rummy all day. Well, after we went to church and then watched Utah church online. It was awesome! Going to church twice, that is. I told Ed that I really just want to listen to Steve and Pastor. And then I wave at everybody, even though they can't see me.

And now for Ruby News.......
Ruby has figured out how to move her head. She shakes her head back and forth, like she's saying "no". It is soooooooo cute! But sometimes she shakes it too hard and she makes herself dizzy. She'll sit there staring off with this surprised look on her face. Hehe! I think to myself "What is wrong with my child? Why is she so crazy?".  And then I remember that I'm her mother. Duh. Ruby also loves Tater. We play this game where we chase Tater around the house. Ruby laughs and laughs. Both her and Tater love to play the game. Its pretty funny. In fact, here's the video......

We got to visit with some of the Duncan family this weekend. Zeke and Zander are pretty much my favorite little guys! Oh man! They are crazy funny! And the cutest little turds when they smile and talk. We also got to see Great Grandma DD and Papa Boyd on Skype. I sure do miss them. I was talking to Ed about them and how much fun we always had with them. Jess and I would eat all the cheese off of Grandpa's nachos. Ha! And Grandma would ALWAYS play any game with us. I am sure both Ed's folks and mine will be awesome Grandparents. If only Em and Jess would jump on the wagon here. (hint hint)
Well, peace out for now.

The Beginning

Hi! It's Jenny. Of course it's Jenny. We all know Ed would never BLOG! Anywho......I decided to take up blogging to keep me busy. I got tired of searching for jobs online. Who wants to work when you can blog?!?! I am not quite sure what to think of "blogging". It seems like I'm talking to no one. So I am very happy that you are reading this right now.
This is my first time, so I'm not quite sure how to start. How about you just close your eyes and imagine knocking on our front door. You'll hear a few barks from Tater and then Eddie yelling at her to shhhhhh!!!!! A few loud bounds down the steps, before a creak of the front door. And there we are, meeting you face to face! Hello! How are ya? Come on in! Take off your coat. Would you like some coffee? Oh, we are doing great. Let me tell you..........

And that is how our blog begins.I hope it's entertaining enough to keep you coming back. I'm sure there will be many changes made within the first few weeks. And hopefully, a lot of fun posts! See ya back here later!
